The Visitors 2 : The Corridors of Time (Couloirs du temps: Les visiteurs 2, Les)
Director: Jean-Marie Poiré
Writers: Christian Clavier and Jean-Marie Poiré
Genre: Comedy / Sci-Fi / Fantasy
Tagline: Ils reviennent!
Plot: Knight Godefroy has to return to our time from 1023 to get back the sacred jewels that Jacquouille has taken to the 20th century. The sequel to The Visitors reunites us with those lovable ruffians from the French Medieval ages who - through magic - are transported into the present, with often drastic consequences. Godefroy de Montmirail travels to today to recover the missing family jewels and a sacred relic, guarantor of his wife-to-be's fertility. The confrontation between Godefroy's repellent servant Jack the Crack and his descendent, the effete Jacquart, present-day owner of the chateau, further complicates the matter.
More
Information: With 54 million spectators for the fisrt episode, the
adventures of Jacquouille la Fipouille and his master Godefroy de Papincourt,
continue with this sequel and will have many attending for the unveiling of it's
secrets. They return to the 12th century with Godefroy (Jean Reno) taking with
him the good descendant Jacquart (Christian Clavier) the owner of the castle in
the year 2000, instead of Jacquouille la Fripouille (also Christian Clavier).
Jacquart is disillusioned by the era of barbarians and escapes at the wrong
moment and gets stopped by The grand inquisition. Accused of sorcery, this film
is a can of laughs. The poor man will run away with Godefroy on the case, as the
celebration of his wedding is taking place, but near the evening, trouble comes
early with the arrival of the bizarre family of the bride. During this time, in
the year 2000, Jacquouille Fripouille is discovering the new age Ginette
(Marie-Anne Chazel) when he is furtively spirited away!. Shooting from the 13th
March to 11th July '97, with a budget that was three times as much as the first
episode. This continuation was carried out in The Dordogne and Paris
regions and also at d'Epinay studios under the absolute and strictest secrecy. A
secret so big, it seemed for this reason why Valerie le Mercier refused to
retake the role of Beatrice. She is replaced by Muriel Robin, who quit the
scene for the premier showing at the cinema.
